If you are reading this blog post, it is safe to say that you have a passion for yoga. You probably also have a strong desire to share your love of yoga with others by starting your own yoga business. While this is an admirable goal, it is important to remember that running a successful business takes more than just passion. It takes hard work, dedication, and organization.

That said, let’s get into how you can organize your yoga business for success.

Identifying your zone of genius and skills to work on

The first way is to be clear on what is your zone of genius. Some of you will be very quick at creating content, some will be good at creativity and finding ideas for their clients, and some might be quick to create a yoga sequence. So what is your zone of genius?

Once you identify this, start thinking of what takes your time. And see if you can either focus the next couple of weeks on learning this skill and be more efficient at it or if you need to delegate it to someone else.

Because there are many new things that you are going to do for your own business that you did not need to know as an employee in a yoga studio.

And this is why going solo and creating your own offers and programs is awesome but can be overwhelming. And it is also why I am here to tell you it is possible, and you will make it if you do not give up.

So pace yourself because you are here for the long run. If you take too much and become too overwhelmed, you will give up, and many will not benefit from everything you have to offer anymore.

Bring more ease and flow to identify your zone of genius and one skill you struggle with that you want to nail in the next couple of weeks. This last one can be learning how to create a landing page or do your first email automation or create your social media content with ease and a clear plan.

Plan either your day or week ahead with clear goals

The second way to invite more flow is to plan. And this can sound a little strange because many people who live with the flow don’t have a plan.

This is why YOUR planning will be a lot different if you tend to be very organized or lack organization.

So if you lack organization in general, I will not recommend you to plan hour by hour what you need to do every day because that might make you more stressed than you were before, but rather plan 5 things you want to achieve this week, so then you can manage your time around that.

Keep Your Schedule In Check

The first step to organizing your yoga business is to keep your schedule in check. This means setting aside time each day/week to work on your business and sticking to that schedule.

It is important to be realistic when setting your schedule, as you will likely have other commitments (e.g., family, friends, etc.) that will take up some of your time. That being said, try to set aside at least 3-4 hours each week to work on things related to your business. This time can be used for things like marketing, bookkeeping, etc.

Stay Focused

When you are working on your business, it is important to stay focused on the task at hand. This can be difficult if you are easily distracted or if there are other things on your mind but it is crucial for getting things done efficiently and effectively. One way to stay focused is to set a timer for a specific amount of time and work on one task until the timer goes off. Once the timer goes off, you can take a break before starting the next task on your list.

Another way to stay focused is by breaking up large tasks into smaller goals. For example, if you need to write a blog post, break the task down into smaller goals such as coming up with a topic, researching the topic, writing the draft, editing the draft, etc. Breaking up the task into smaller goals will make it less daunting, and you will be more likely to complete it.

Get organized

This may seem like an obvious tip, but it is one that is often overlooked. Getting organized can mean different things for different people, but some basic tips include:

  • Using a planner/calendar to keep track of deadlines, appointments, etc.
  • Making lists of tasks that need to be completed.
  • Have a specific place for all of your materials (e.g., folders for important documents).
  • Investing in organizational tools like file cabinets and label makers.

Following these tips will help reduce stress and make it easier for you to stay on top of things.

Delegate/Outsource When Necessary

As much as we would all like to think that we can do everything ourselves, the reality is that we cannot. At some point, you will need to delegate tasks or outsource them completely if you want your business to run smoothly. Some tasks that can be delegated or outsourced include

  • Bookkeeping/accounting.
  • Marketing tasks like social media posts or creating email newsletters.
  • Web design/development.

If you find yourself getting bogged down by all of the little details related to running your business, delegating or outsourcing tasks can help free up some time so that you can focus on more important things—like growing your business!

Schedule fun and rest time to avoid feeling overwhelmed and like all you do is work

The last thing to bring more flow is scheduling rest and fun. Being overwhelmed by all we need to do is paralyzing, and often we just feel stuck, and then because we feel stuck, we feel stupid and incapable of doing this business thing. But I can tell you. You can do it.

And sometimes all you need is a day off, or 20 minutes off, or a power nap.

When I did start to feel overwhelmed looking at all I had to do in the past, I forced myself to go freediving, go for a massage, or do something that had nothing to do with work.

Conclusion

Running a successful yoga business takes more than just passion—it also takes organization and focus. By following the tips in this blog post, you will be well on your way toward having a successful yoga business. Set aside time each week specifically for working on your business, stay focused when working on tasks, and get organized. You should also delegate or outsource certain tasks so that you can focus on more important aspects of running your business. Implement these tips and watch as your yoga business flourishes!
