Growing an audience online is not an overnight journey.
Collaboration is your new best friend if you want to fast-track the journey and jump ahead. You are going to see massive growth if you use this tool correctly. Many of you are currently focusing on visibility online, and collaboration is truly amazing at catapulting small businesses.
When it comes to marketing your yoga business, there is no “I” in the team. Working with other businesses, whether in your industry or not, can help you reach a whole new audience and grow your business. Here are a few ways you can collaborate and grow your yoga audience.
Find a Complimentary Business
You can cross-promote on social media. That means you can share each other’s stories, post on Instagram, or even create a collaboration reel you make together. I love doing that! You can also host each other in your Facebook groups or on whatever platform you use to build your brand awareness.
Working with a business that compliments your own is a great way to reach a new audience. For example, if you sell yoga mats, teaming up with a local yoga studio to offer a discount to their members would be a great way to get your product in front of potential customers. You can also team up with businesses that complement your own services. Teaming up with a local massage therapist to offer a package deal could benefit both businesses if you teach yoga classes.
Host an Event
Hosting or co-hosting an event is another great way to collaborate and grow your audience. You could host a workshop, webinar, or even just a social meetup.
When choosing who to partner with for your event, look for businesses with complementary audiences.
For example, if you target people who are new to yoga, teaming up with a beginner’s yoga studio would make sense.
If you target people who are interested in using yoga for weight loss, partnering with a nutritionist or health coach would be beneficial.
Create Content Together
Creating content is one of the best ways to reach and engage your target audience. If you’re struggling with content ideas or don’t have the time to create content on your own, consider teaming up with another business owner. You could guest blog on each other’s websites, co-host a podcast or YouTube show, or even just do an Instagram takeover. The options are endless! Make sure you partner with someone whose audience is interested in what you have to say.
Create a challenge with 1 day per business. For example, Erika, Gabi, Amber, and I have done a 5 day-free challenge with one day each, and it was awesome and a great way to build our own audiences with perfect-match students.
You can also write an article or feature each other in a blog or podcast. Make sure that the collaboration is fair, so each of you should have the same exposure to each other audience.
Email Promotion
I also like to do a 1-to-1 email promotion which means that each of you will prepare an email that the other one will send to their audiences. It can be with a subject line such as an Email from my friend Annie on how to be confident teaching Yoga in English.
“The potential using collaborations is truly unlimited.”
And as a quick reminder from something you might have heard me saying, if you do hang out in my Facebook group Elevate Your yoga Career is that there are 3 strategies to grow your online community:
One is organic marketing, the free content you put out there; the second strategy is collaboration, and the third is paid advertising.
Conclusion
If you want to grow your yoga audience, collaborations are key. Working with other businesses allows you to reach a whole new group of people interested in what you offer. So go first to identify who serves the same target market as you but do it differently.
Then contact them and offer them to collaborate by doing a 1:1 email promotion or an interview, a collab reel, a giveaway, or one of many options available.
And then see the massive results you will have as you get more exposure to other people’s audiences.
